WhatsApp Community
In 2020, the entire world went into lockdown due to the Covid pandemic. Freelance creatives, facing an abrupt loss of work and financial security found themselves in a precarious position. In response, a group of like-minded freelancers, driven by the mutual desire to assist one another, came together to establish a WhatsApp group for freelancers. From these origins Freelance People was born.
The WhatsApp community is a great space for collaborative problem-solving, job sharing, finding crew and helping fellow freelancers out . Freelance People stands as a vibrant community of creative professionals, a testament to the strength of collective unity.

The Rate Card for the Unrepresented!
Over 100 freelancers developed a rate card for jobs that fall outside of the BECTU or APA ratecards. Roles that are otherwise unrepresented. The card was created by our community through weeks of discussion and many polls.
The card will give you a good grounding in rates across the industry.
If you shoot events, vox pop videos, social media content or corporate content then this rate card could serve as a useful guide.
Broadly speaking, if you are working in Film/Motion Picture, TV Drama/Streaming/VOD, Broadcast or Commercials, then you should be using BECTU or APA rate cards.
